Education for both moms and children is key to breaking the cycle of poverty — so it’s an important part of what we do at Lund.
We provide high-quality educational opportunities that help families to become healthy and self-sufficient. These include:
- New Horizons Education Program:
An alternative high school placement program for pregnant and parenting young women, licensed by the State of Vermont.
- Lund’s Early Childhood Education Program:
Our 5 STAR-rated child care center serving residential and community families, for children up to 5 years of age.
- Teen Pregnancy Prevention Outreach Program:
Lund’s unique peer-to-peer pregnancy prevention outreach in Vermont, bringing the realities of teen pregnancy and parenting to schools and organizations across the state. A panel of Lund women bravely shares real-life stories to help others avoid issues such as poverty and school failure.
Lund’s education programs are integrated with our other treatment and family support services providing wraparound support to clients. All programs are designed to support the unique needs of young mothers and their families.
