For teenagers, the most influential messages are often the ones that come directly from their peers..
At Lund, many of our young moms are anxious to share their experiences of pregnancy and parenting with their peers. Our Teen Pregnancy Prevention Outreach Program allows them this opportunity.
Panels of brave young moms travel to schools, community groups, and other organizations around the state to share their stories and answer questions from the audience about the realities of being a young mom.
Many audience members and educators have shared that these panels have a powerful and lasting effect on them. Personal testimony and the chance to ask questions of a peer are key tools in Lund’s continuing efforts to reduce teen pregnancy rates.
Lund’s Teen Pregnancy Prevention Outreach Specialist also offers educational presentations on contraception and birth control methods.
