What is Cornhole?
Cornhole is a game in which players take turns throwing small bags filled with dried corn at a raised platform with a hole in the far end. Getting the bag in the hole scores three points and landing one on the platform scores one point. The game is won when one player or team scores 21 points.
Why play Cornhole?
It is easy but exciting! It is a game for all ages from two to 102! It can be played competitively or just for fun. You can play it anywhere you can set up a Cornhole board – inside or outside.
I know what you’re thinking. This sounds great, when can I play?
Well, we have the perfect opportunity for you – Lund’s “Pitchin’ for a Purpose” Cornhole Tournament on Saturday, May 12, 2018 at the Burlington International Airport, starting at 11 am. (Check in opens at 10:30 am). Register your team today. A team must consist of at least 2 throwers and maximum of 6 throwers. You certainly can have more on your team to help fundraise! This is an exclusive 64 team tournament starting in a Round Robin play guaranteeing 3 games, followed by single elimination. We ask that each team please raise a minimum of $250.
Prizes will be awarded for:
- “Pitchin’ for a Purpose Cornhole” Tournament 2018 Champion
- “Pitchin’ for a Purpose Cornhole” Tournament 2018 Runner Up
- Top fundraisers: Individual and Team
- Best Team T-shirt
There will be plenty of other fun happening during the event such as music, a Cornhole Derby, silent auction, vendors such as Fiddlehead Brewing Company, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Vermont and many more. It’s going to be a fun day – rain or shine!
Funds raised at this event go to support Lund’s programs that reach over 5,300 Vermonters each year. Every bean bag you toss is helping children find their forever families, moms overcome the challenges of substance use disorder, children get the strongest start in life through high quality early education, teen mothers finish high school, young parents find sustainable careers and so much more.
