Sasha Gawlik, Nursing Coordinator at Lund’s residential program, won the Employee of the Quarter Award for the 2nd quarter of 2018. Sasha joined Lund during a very busy time and just as two members of her team were preparing to leave Lund to pursue higher education degrees. Sasha took all of this in stride and brought a fresh energy to the Medical Department that permeates the whole building. Throughout her transition into the role, she maintained and delivered a high standard of medical care to clients and their children.
Sasha was able to hire one new staff immediately to replace the two departing members. During the transition time period of bringing on new staff, Sasha worked extraordinarily long hours. Yet, she remained gracious and good spirited through the high level of admissions and discharges in the program during this time. She has implemented quality improvements in record-keeping, service delivery, and appropriate, timely consultations. Sasha always has a smile on her face and is a positive influence in the residents’ lives on a daily basis.
Sasha has maintained a genuine strengths-based approach to her work. When there have been challenges or discrepancies, she takes time to walk through the question with her colleague to find solutions that make sense for the system as a whole. Sasha communicates clearly, concisely, and accurately and is a great collaborator. She is a true team player, offers sound advice, and is a supportive colleague.
Sasha has made incredible connections. She treats every client as a valued human being. She really wants to provide the best care for everyone. She took time to make her medical room look warm and inviting because she wants everyone to feel welcomed and safe in that space. Sasha takes time to sit with the women and allow them to be heard.
Sasha uses her humor to help facilitate hard conversations. She is dependable and consistent which makes such a positive impact on everyone she works with.
We are so thankful that Sasha has joined the Lund team and congratulate her on being Lund’s Employee of the Quarter!
