Happy Valentine’s Day from Lund!
There is a heart right in the middle of our logo (and right in the middle of the work that we do) so this really is our season. Lund is a leader and advocate for Vermont families. Lund believes that all children deserve love and to really love children, we must also support the adults in their lives. For us, “love” begins with meeting a person’s most basic and practical needs, like having a safe home, food, education and treatment services when necessary. With the right support, families can reach their greatest potential and contribute to our communities.
We have many reasons to celebrate love all year around! Love that brings a family together through adoption, love that connects an incarcerated mom and her child between their bi-monthly Kids-A-Part visits, love that motivates a caregiver to engage in treatment, love that a preschooler has for his classmates and his teacher, love for their work and for this organization that drives and sustains our employees.
As the rest of the world joins us and thinks a little bit more about love this week, here are some ideas for celebrating Valentine’s Day with children:
- Color paper hearts – grab all the pinks, reds, and you’ll probably want all the other colors too and get creative
- Experiment with red food coloring during water play or make pink ice cubes
- Make some heart shaped snacks – keep it simple by using a cookie cutter on cheese slices or bread. If you’re ready for something more complex, check out some great ideas here
- Check out one of these wonderful valentine’s themed stories
- Do something kind for a stranger. Spread love through the community.
Happy Valentine’s Day from all of us!
