We are pleased to announce that Melissa Appleton has been awarded the Congressional Angel in Adoption Award for the State of Vermont for 2025. CCAI’s Angels in Adoption® Leadership Program honors a wide spectrum of individuals and organizations making extraordinary contributions in adoption, permanency, and child welfare. Melissa will be honored at a Gala in Washington, DC in September.
Melissa is Lund’s Post Permanency Services Coordinator, and for the past 19 years, she has dedicated herself to supporting families formed through adoption and guardianship by providing exceptional post-permanency services. She brings a rare combination of clinical expertise, ethical leadership, and compassionate advocacy to her work. As the Coordinator of a program deeply rooted in strength-based and family-centered practices, Melissa demonstrates an extraordinary capacity to navigate the complex demands of her role.
