South Burlington – 11/2020 – Lund is excited to welcome four new members to its Board of Trustees.
Board Chair Christine Oliver stated, “It is a testament to Lund’s impact in Vermont that we are able to attract these talented community leaders to our Board. We look forward to working with them to advance Lund’s critical mission for the State of Vermont.”
Sarah Andriano, of Charlotte, is the Vice President for Advancement and Community Engagement at Champlain College. She has worked at the College since 2011- in fundraising and enrollment management. Sarah has spent her entire career working in higher education and comes to the Lund board with extensive experience in fundraising and non-profit management. She served as a volunteer for Lund’s 125th Anniversary Celebration. Sarah also serves on the board of the Charlotte Children’s Center and has served on Women United- of the United Way of Northwest Vermont. Andriano said, “Lund has a mission that I believe in and I want to see it continue to thrive. I would love to bring my expertise in fundraising and nonprofits to benefit the organization and community.”
Bob Morgan, of Essex Junction, is the Chief Executive Officer of NorthCountry Federal Credit Union. He was born and raised in New Hartford, New York, and later moved to Vermont where he earned his Bachelor’s Degree in History and a Masters of Business Administration in 1998 from the University of Vermont. Bob has served on the Association of Vermont Credit Union’s (AVCU) Board of Directors for seven years. He participated in Filene’s I3 innovation program from 2008-2010 and now serves on Filene’s CEO Research Council. Bob serves as Chair on the Board of the Greater Burlington YMCA and is a volunteer coach for youth baseball and basketball. Morgan shared, “NorthCountry has been a community sponsor of the Lund for many years. I have toured the Lund headquarters and the wall of personal stories of children/clients of Lund. We also have an employee who spoke to me several years ago and thanked me for supporting Lund because her life was impacted by their great work.”
Andrew Pallito, of Burlington, is the Chief Financial Officer for the Community College of Vermont. He came to CCV after a long career in Vermont State Government, having served as Commissioner of Finance and Commissioner of Corrections, including over 20 years of service in the Agency of Human Services. Andy is a former board member for ME2, an orchestra for people struggling with mental illness. He is currently a board member for the Vermont Flight Academy, the sole commercial pilot training school in the state. Pallito said, “I had a 26 year career in state government of which 20 plus years were in the Agency of Human Services. During that time, I experienced many clients who used Lund services. Those services were always very well done, and I have been impressed with Lund. This makes me ambitious to help Lund deliver their mission and use my government experience to help.”
Karen Vastine, of Burlington, is the Senior Community Relations Officer for the UVM Health Network. Previously, she served as Senior Advisor to the Commissioner of the Department of Children and Families and ran the Burlington Community Justice Center. Karen has a strong record of advocacy for juvenile justice and for underserved populations, and has extensive volunteer experience. Vastine shared, “I’ve always been in awe of the breadth and depth of what Lund does to actively support child safety and successful parenting. When I ran the Burlington Community Justice Center (from 2007-2015) and served in the Commissioner’s Office at the Department for Children & Families (2015-2020), I had the privilege of working with and along-side a number of staff at Lund. In both roles, I saw first-hand the value Lund directly adds to family’s lives, its radical approach to serving women who are incarcerated, not to mention the important role it plays in Vermont’s child care tapestry.”
Lund helps children thrive by empowering families to break cycles of poverty, addiction and abuse. Lund offers hope and opportunity to families through education, treatment, family support and adoption. Lund is a member agency of the United Way of Northwest Vermont.
