At Lund, we work on prevention every day. We understand that there are many complex pathways to substance misuse, and we know the challenges families with young children face, especially when they have multiple risk factors. By offering prevention and support services to these families, we aim to give them a strong foundation for a healthy start.
Newborn and Family Wellbeing
DULCE is a partnership with Vermont Legal Aid and Timber Lane Pediatrics. Through this program, Lund has a family specialist embedded in the Timber Lane Pediatrics South Burlington location. Our family specialist, Theresa, supports families with newborns throughout the first six months of well-child visits.
Early Childhood Education
A strong start makes a lifelong difference — especially for children struggling with poverty, abuse, or trauma. Research shows that children who have participated in a high-quality early childhood program experience lower rates of substance use and incarceration than those who received standard or sub-standard early childhood services.

A Healthy Start for Families
Lund is one of 15 legislatively designated Parent Child Centers (PCCs) in Vermont, serving all families with young children across Chittenden County so that they can get off to a healthy start. PCCs are service hubs for families with young children – a place in the local community where families are always welcome and can get the support they need, regardless of economic or family status.
