Lund is a designated Parent Child Center, serving all families with young children in Chittenden county with a focus on families with children ages 0-5. Parent Child Centers provide prevention and early intervention through eight core services such as home visits, parent education and support, playgroups, access to resources and concrete supports.
Meet Mairav
Mairav Simon is an Outreach Specialist at the Lund Parent Child Center. Mairav assists families with young children by providing direct services and connections to other community supports and resources as needed. Mairav can help with:
Parenting Support:
- Parent education
- Home visits
- Help finding playgroups and community events
Finding Financial Support:
- Assistance with finding and accessing financial resources to support your family needs such as housing, childcare, food, or economic services
- Access to concrete supports such as diapers and financial supports for one time and/or emergency needs
Resource and Referral:
Information about other child and family resources you may be eligible for and assistance with accessing these supports, including child development and children’s mental health supports.

Family Advisory Committee
We’re seeking members to start a Family Advisory Committee. The Family Advisory Committee (FAC) is a group of parents and caregivers from the community. Its purpose is to provide input to Lund on designing programs and services that meet the needs of families in Chittenden County.
Duties
- Respect and consider other people’s opinions.
- Participate in a minimum of four out of six regular meetings held every six weeks and other subcommittee meetings as needed.
- Suggest ideas and agenda items, and plan activities such as holiday celebrations, outings and other special projects.
- Participate in leadership, teamwork, and advocacy training.
- Represent Lund to the community and help promote Lund activities.
- Participate in fundraising activities on behalf of Lund.

Upcoming Lund Events & Workshops
- Richmond Playgroup: this free weekly playgroup is a fun and casual way to meet other families from the area. Join us at the Richmond Free Library Wednesdays from 9-11 AM. All families with children ages 0-5 are encouraged to attend!
- Wacky Wednesday Playgroup: Join us on Wednesdays from 10:30 AM – 12:00 PM for a free hands-on playgroup for little ones who love to explore, squish, squeeze, and create. Each week, we dive into messy, sensory fun with activities like ooblek, playdough, foam, and more. Designed for toddlers as an open play setup for littles to enjoy without too much structure and a chance for caregivers to connect. The playgroup will be held inside 50 Joy Drive in South Burlington (if the weather is nice we will set up outside in the front of the building). No need to register, just show up!
- Reading Together: Join us on May 27th at 4:30 PM for a free family literacy event. A CLiF presenter will lead an engaging storytelling session and offer tips on building strong reading habits at home. Pizza and snacks provided and each child will choose a book to take home! Register here.
- Pediatric First Aid & CPR Training: Join us Saturday, May 30th from 9:30 AM -12:00 PM for a free Pediatric First Aid and CPR Training. This training is open to all levels. There are limited spots and registration is required. Sign up here by May 25th.
